Jan 12–18: “In the Beginning God Created the Heaven and the Earth” (Genesis 1–2; Moses 2–3; Abraham 4–5)
From a blank canvas to a masterpiece! This week, we’re celebrating the wonder of the Creation and the miracle of our sacred bodies with acoustic rhythm and soul.
Last week, we "shouted for joy" in the Council in Heaven because we trusted the Plan of Happiness. This week, the adventure moves from heaven to earth! We’re watching as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ take "unorganized" space and transform it into a magnificent home designed just for us to learn and grow.

The Artist and the Masterpiece
"Everything was perfect, everything was right."

Day 1: The earth was created and the light broke through. Day 2: The Great Jehovah divided the sky into a beautiful blue. Day 3: He rolled back the waters, brought out the land, and painted the flowers with the palm of His hand. Day 4: God placed the sun and the moon in their proper place. Day 5: He filled the seas with fish and the skies with birds. Day 6: God created the land animals—lions and tigers and cattle on the hill—culminating with Adam and Eve, made in the image of the Father. Day 7: God took a Sabbath rest—and so should we.
The Big Idea: The World is a Gift and So Are You!
Before the world had mountains, oceans, or even light, it was "unorganized." It was like a messy room or a blank piece of paper. Then, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ began to work, step by step. With every day that passed, they added color, life, and rhythm until the world was a masterpiece.
But they didn't just make the world to look at it—they made it for you. The very best part of the whole story is when They created people in Their own image. When you look in the mirror, you aren't looking at an accident; you’re looking at God’s greatest creation. Because He is a Creator, you are a creator too!
The most exciting part? They aren't finished! The same God who turned "empty and dark" into "stars and oceans" is working on you right now. Being created in "God's image" means you carry a divine nature—you have the potential to become like Him. When life feels messy or you make a mistake, remember: you are a work in progress, and the Great Creator is still helping you grow.

Lyric Highlight
Painted all the flowers with the palm of His hand...
He didn't make a mistake, He didn't miss a beat
Now the foundation is under our feet!
And He said, 'It is good.'"

Family Activity
Try This: Go for a 5-minute walk outside (or look out the window). Find three things that God "painted" that you think are "Very Good." Is it the texture of a leaf? The color of the sky? The way a bug moves?
Reflect: Why do you think Heavenly Father and Jesus made the world so beautiful instead of just making it "functional"?
Reflect Again: God can make something beautiful out of something messy. What is something "messy" (like a hard day) that God could help you turn into something "good"?
Listen & Watch
And It Was Good
This rhythmic acoustic track follows the "beat" of the six days of creation. It reminds us that God is a God of order who can take the "unorganized" parts of our lives and turn them into something magnificent.
It's Good to Be Alive
Featuring big brass hits and a soul vibe, this song is told from the perspective of Adam and Eve waking up in the Garden. It’s a high-energy celebration of the human body—breath, heartbeat, and the joy of being alive!
