Feb 9–15: “Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord” (Genesis 6-11; Moses 8)
From a world of water to a new beginning. This week, we stand with Noah as he builds an ark of safety—and learn that while the world may "babble on," following the Prophet helps us stay safely above the storm.
Last week, we witnessed the glory of Zion—a community so unified they were taken up into heaven. This week, we see the world that was left behind. As violence and pride filled the earth, the Lord provided a new way for His children to be safe: a covenant, a prophet, and a giant boat.

Noah Walked with God
"Don't need a ticket, yeah the ride is free
Just a little bit of faith is the only fee!"
Safety isn't about how strong
the boat is; it's about who
told you to build it.
Set the Stage: The 120-Year Warning
Imagine building a giant ship in the middle of a desert when there isn’t a single cloud in the sky. That’s what Noah did! For 120 years, Noah warned the people that a flood was coming and invited them to repent. People laughed and thought he was "losing his touch," but Noah didn't build the ark because he saw rain—he built it because he heard God.
The Big Idea: Prophets are Our "Weather Forecast"
Prophets aren't just here to tell us stories; they help us prepare for things we can't see yet. Just as Noah prepared for the "big water show," our living prophet today gives us invitations and warnings to keep us spiritually safe. When we listen, we find that the Lord has already provided everything we need to stay afloat.

Lyric Highlight
"I woke up early with a song in my head
Jumped out of the covers and I made up the bed
Grabbed a hammer and a saw and a piece of pine
Because the weather forecast says it's gonna be fine"
Reflect: Noah started "hammering" long before the rain arrived. Is there something the Prophet has asked us to do that we can start working on today—with a happy heart?
Family Activity
Try This: Set a timer for just two minutes (120 seconds). Tell your children they have to wait for the "rain" (a small spray of water or a treat) to arrive only when the timer goes off. While they wait, they have to pretend to hammer and saw to build their own "ark."
Reflect: Was it hard to keep working when you couldn't see the rain yet? How would it have felt to wait for two hours (120 minutes) instead of two minutes (120 seconds)? How do you think Noah felt waiting for 120 years?
